Products We Use

Here is a list of products and supplies that we use in our home with all of our cats and in raising our kittens. Feel free to continue the use of these items that your kitten is used to, in our home, or use it as a starting point of the supplies that you will need for the maintenance of your kitten. All the items listed here have been thoroughly tested by our kittens/cats.

Water fountains & Bowls

We use mostly stainless steel, ceramic, or glass water fountains. The use of plastic or plastic containing water fountains can lead to chin acne on kittens/cats. It is also ideal to have brushes of various sizes to clean the fountains/bowls.

Treats

These are the most favored treats among our cats. For the most part, we use treats that are not made of or contain chicken as it is a common allergy among cats. We conduct allergy testing on all our cats to rule out any allergies but still choose to stay away from chicken-related products.

Cat food

These are the most favored foods among our cats. For the most part, just like the treats, we try to avoid chicken-related products. If we have ruled out a chicken allergy we do allow our cats to eat some chicken once a day or every other day depending on the feeding schedule for that week. Our breeders usually eat between 4 or 5 different types of dry food a day and 2 wet foods throughout the day. However, for your kitten 1 or 2 types of food are fine. Additionally, throughout the week we provide our cats probiotics to promote gut health. When getting new food for your kitten/cat make sure to get the smallest bag possible and not to buy foods in bulk. Cats/kittens are sometimes picky about their food!!

Litter boxes

Through the years we have used various litter boxes but have found the ones below to work best. We also have found different litters to work best depending on the age of kittens/cats. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU EVER USE SCENTED LITTER!!!

Litter Robot

We have multiple Litter-Robot 3's in our home, and we cannot recommend it enough! It's easy to use and keeps the litterbox clean for the cats. It also frees up time from scooping, and it has an app to tell us when to change the bag in the waste drawer! It is EXPENSIVE but well worth it.

Grooming

Like many cats, Ragdolls are a long haired cat and requiring on-going grooming maintenance. We groom our young kittens with plain old regular dawn soap. As they get older we use the following grooming products on our older adults. We also use different brushes when grooming for de-shedding or de-tangling.

Cat trees

There's a wild side to cats! Having various cat trees around the home helps them with their wild side. Here are some of the cat trees we have in our home and use with our kittens.
